In today’s digital world it might seem that using film is a lot of effort and expense to go to, merely to take a picture. For my portraits the  results are, I believe, worth it . Film brings something special that can’t be replicated authentically with a digital camera . 

 

The camera format that I use produces film negatives that can print to large sizes with a lot of detail. I  use low speed fine grain film with a mechanical medium format camera ( no electronics inside,  and the negative is four times the size of a 35mm camera ) , a light meter and studio lighting. The images produced are timeless and classic.
